My tuscan 2S has just been de cat.
I have removed the fibre wadding from my shark cans.
But it's still too tinny sounding. She pops and bags better than any of by previous Tivs but I need the deeper rumble (v8)
Next logical step is to sleeve the cans (simple and cheap)
If that's not right I will remove what seem to be pointless rear boxes.
If I do this and it turns out to be too loud, can the sleeve be removed from the cans once hammered into position?
Or remove the boxes first then sleeve if not the desired effect??
Trawled through lots of previous posts and it is a great talking point. Unfortunately some vids on you tube don't reflect the sound of some mods very well.
I don't want to change too much and create an ear bleeding monster that is too much on a general run out.

Sleeving perforated silencers is not the way to go if you want a less 'tinny' sound IMO. Baffled silencers (as on most bread and butter cars) filter out the low frequencies to get the dBs down, but silencers with a straight perforated pipe surrounded by wadding ('sports' silencers) do the opposite - they filter the higher frequencies and leave the lows more or less intact.
I think the decatting is not to blame here -that just tends to make things louder), more likely it's the removal of wadding material.

Yes I layered well compacted stainless strands back in. It definitely created a slightly deeper tone than the fibre wadding.
I just need deeper.
If I sleeve the cans can I remove it after if its too much? That's the one I think.
If the rear boxes get removed and new stainless pipe is welded in, that's an exercise more difficult to reverse.
????

Perhaps my v8 comparison has throw my plight off course.
I expect the speed 6 to be different.
I am just looking for a bit more deep tone.
Noisy on here has a fantastic sound tuscan but he said its too much all the time.
So I will try little changes and see where it goes.
Going for sleeve first before rear box removal I think

Your right Noisys car does make an awesome sound he was on the tunnel run yesterday. I'm pretty sure it was the car Which when close by I couldn't even hear mine running, and I'm at 105 db exactly.
Keep this thread updated if you get close to that sound with out the massive volume level.

Mine are fully sleeved and decatted and whilst i do love it, i would like a deeper exhaust note too as it is raspy. I have thought about trying to take the sleeve back out, or trying to cut out part of the sleeve with a slitting disk and dremel...but it was a bloody tight fit to get the sleeves in there....
So far i have done sweet FA about it, fearing i will only cock that up and have to buy new cans...
