You're in luck... one's just been completed in the last week or so. Get in touch with Dave Beevers who's come up with it through his profile: www.pistonheads.com/members/showProfile.asp?memberId=14033.

Isn't PH marvellous!

£80 all in, I believe he said, and here's one of the pics I was mailed of it (Dave measured my Cerb up for it when I still had one):

Yep they are ready to go. The pic is of the later design. The earlier prototype fitted ok on the earlier cars from 1996 to about 1998 or so, but did not fit Speed6 cars very well and the later model 4.2 and 4.5s as these all have a different gear linkage which increases the gear lever throw.

IF anyone has a S6 car or a later 4.2/4.5 (year 1999 or 2000 onwards)and wants one of these and lives close by to the Leeds area (or Sheffield/Matlock as Im over there now and again), I would be more than greatful to meet up with you and try and fit it to see if it is ok.

Yep cost £80. This is the price it costs me to get them made (Im not making any money from these).

Cheers
Dave

Jeez you're a brave soul. I took the cats to the vet a couple of times in the Cerb, and they stayed well locked up in their cat boxes. But you had a 'gator in yours , and it was just stuck down

Dave, mine that you measured up was a Nov 99 4.2, so I'm not sure at what point they changed the design...

Cheers mate. I tried the earlier prototype on some 2000 S6s and it did not fit. Well more like it did fit but stopped the gear lever getting into 2/4/R or whatever the gears are on the bottom of the box. So must be about the 2000 mark? I will dig a bit more around to see if there is a definite date.

Hope that the actual ones Ive got made will fit though. Ive changed the design so hopefully there will be no problems!

How much does it reduce the hole round the stick toto, or are they all slightly different shapes and sizes, I think I could get away with reducing mine buy about 10 -15mm.

Its a combination of the reduced hole and also the height of the suround. It reduces the hole by about 10mm. It also doesnt help that the gear stick is all over the place in relation to the hole in different cars, but thats TVRs for you.

I have not properly fitted it to the later type of cars yet. When placed over the top of these it looks like its close to working but also close to not working! Cannot really tell.

If you are interested and you have the later car, and it does not fit I will give you your cash back, plus the cost of postage.
