Hi every one
Was wondering how long to expect a engine rebuild
To take
What have ur expectancies have been are we talking a mater of weeks or months
I would really like you views and probs remember the naming and shaming rules
But honesty would be helpfull

depends on what you need doing, and if you cannot do it yourself, phone up the usual suspects and ask, it will depend on who is busy and who isn`t and how much work your engine needs.

Pascal, good to see you still have a sence of humour, and hopefully you will get the car you deserve....soon.

To topic, It does not take long to get a SP6/AJP rebuilt, 2-3 weeks would be about right if the builder only has a few jobs in but it depends what you want done, so you would need to discuss with them , and only then would you get an accurate timescale.
Builders most reccomended on here are,

Str8six
Racing Green

there are a few others but I can't think of the names at this time but the one's above would be a good start.

I'll let you know when its finished.Till then I'll just keep following the yellow brick road! Hopefully not for much longer though.

Again there are a lot of variables which come into play,how busy they are,what work you're having done,problems that arise.What you want is AVOIDABLE delays kept to an absolute minimum with an honest & realistic timescale given,with regular updates.Problems may well arise which is fair enough,but as a customer you need to feel as though they are doing everything possible for you.After all,you're probably spending a rather large some of money.

Good luck with your choice & hopefully 6-8 weeks will see you sorted.

Having just been through this, I would allow 3 months elapsed time from when you say 'I want you to rebuild my engine' to getting it back ready to run in so you don't get frustrated.
