One less griffith (an 02 reg too) on the road after yesterday.
Owner managed to not spot the black and white painted island in front of him, and decided to attempt to drive over the top of it.
Driver taken to hospital, so sympathy there.
But considering it was a very straight short (500 yards) dual carriageway before hand in perfect conditions
- and a 40mph zone the entire length of the track.. I would suggest it was caused by over enthusiastic use of the loud pedal. Not clever considering the pedestrian crossing they went past not 200 yards previous.
I can't see how it happened, so I won't suggest blame, could have been a blow out? but do consider the length of the skidmarx were HUGE.
I took some photos, will edit out the plate and post this evening.

excuse me for the confusion, but why? shall I just send them to wreckedexotics.com instead? I doubt there is much permission granted there. Also the local newspaper will be showing them before the weekend (not mine, there own).

happy to discuss the point before I make the final decision of my own : embarrasing yes, but in a public place already, plenty of strangers already seen it, what diffence does a TVR enthusiast site make?
The driver didn't have a lot of choice about people in the locality seeing the results of the accident. Somebody posting photos on the Internet for a much wider audience to rubberneck over and make rash and ill-informed judgements over the skill of the driver and the circumstances (as will inevitably happen) is another thing entirely.
Personally, if it were my car crashed, Id be a little annoyed and disapointed if someone were to post them on PH without my prior consent....newspapers seem to be have a rule to themselves, and often someones misfortune, even if that misfortune was their fault or not, is the newspapers gain and no-one elses.

It appears to me that by you showing the pictures, that you are saying there is "proof" in the skidmarks and road layout for the driver to be "completely to blame" for the accident.....I say no to the pictures. It is not upto any of us to decide, either with or without pictures, who was to blame.
Only the driver or the car and or the police if involved should be able to come to that conclusion.
It goes without saying...these TVR's bite back sometimes, and sometimes when you least expect it...we should all drive these beasts with respect, safely and especially if being driven in unfamiliar territory!
Must say I can't see how a fews pics and our prattling is going to make an ounce of difference to plod, insurance, etc. Yes, the owner may prefer it didn't get posted, but he/she isn't going to be identified by showing some pictures of the car or some skid marks. The only people who will recognise it and be able to identify the driver are people who already know the driver.
I appreciate the opportunity to see what happens to these cars when they crash, because it's about the only way we have of judging how safe they are.

I can only agree with my learned colleague, I don't see what value, however well intentioned, posting photos will provide.
I wont be posting them. happy to listen to the debate tho. gives me something to think about during the afternoon...
I find the idea of wreckedexotics.com completly contradictical to this. I guess it shows there is all sorts in the world, and there will always be a market somewhere for this type of voyerism.
