The disappearing wife bit was clever wasn`t it!!
In order to use her car, I had to allow her a "cameo" slot and also she had to double up as the driver of the "camera support vehicle" - as well as doing some of the filming!! You just can`t get the staff these days!
Suction mount was from www.b-hague.co.uk who supply all sorts of filming "goodies"

That`s the one - I also bought the superclamp as a combined kit. Just make sure the surface you put it on is clean - and I have also been adding a secondary safety cord just in case the suction fails - it hasn`t though so far!
TIMW - are you thinking of "bullet" cams? I`m sure others on here have used them very successfully

2.What colour is your car? Dosn't look a million miles away from Cosmos Blue, which is my colour.
1. The software I use is Pinnacle Studio 8 (I think "9" is out now) and it came complete with card for installing plus DV cable for a DV Camcorder. Just download from cam, edit etc and output to wmv,mpeg,real and DVD which is great for pic/sound quality if you have a cinema setup
2. It`s Olympic blue and is very similer to Cosmos blue - both lovely colours

Gussie a hat. Where did you film it ---Kings Lynn?
And of course the video would have been a lot faster if it was from a GRIFFITH!!!

Is your computer still playing up?! - my emails are obviously having trouble reaching you but we all had a pleasant beer on Thursday!! Gussie likes her hair messed up
and the video was digitally "slowed down" as I was driving the Chimaera too fast It was all filmed locally. Email me your phone number of you like and we can communicate the old fashioned way.

Thks Ian. I have Pinnacle 9 just installed.
Have been filming my son's band (www.fiftyviews.com) gigs and trying to put some video clips onto their web-site.
Struggling to compress as it is hugely memory intensive. Seems to be 1 meg per second!!!
Any ideas for a computer numptie?
P.S. - try my son's website. The first track (Rubberman) is great in the Chim at full blast
. It can almost drown out the V8 rumble

Sounds as though you are using straight audio/video DV footage from the camera. To get it to a better size for uploading/dowloading you need to check the screen size, type and bitrate you are saving it at.
Reduce the screen size - do not use higher than 640x480 if you are planning on uploading it and still want to keep good quality playback with minimal filesize.
Reduce the bitrate kp/s figure, anything above 500kp/s isn't worth the difference it produces.
What codec/format are you saving with, normal MPEG?, AVI (with a compression codec like DivX?) Quicktime Movie?
I would suggest saving as an AVI using DivX (very common type).
Then to reduce video size further load the AVI into either Windows Move Make (if you have WinXP) or download the WIndows Media Encoder from Microsoft. Load in your AVI and re-save, experiment with the bitrate/screen size settings to get the ideal movie filesize you are comfortable with uploading with a bitrate of the WMV probably around 350-400kp/s.
If it is just a 4min music video the finished WMV should be no bigger than 8mb for acceptable quality of video/audio playback.
