Hi I have just upgraded the top end of my engine, 5000 Mls after the bottom half, and have some well ported heads with the matching inlet manifold up for grabs. They are in good condition what would be a good price for them and where is the best place to advertise?

I'd try the classified section on here (PH).

Price, as in what they are worth? Well ask TVR and they would probably say upwards of 3k!

Used TVR heads are scarce and pricey, they carry a premium because they are TVR. Any ported heads will be expensive, just ask around!

Depends on what you conisder to be pricey, a matched and CCd set of Stage III heads by V8D come in around £750 and AFAIK they are pretty much up to any road engine application. Match these with a Ported Manifold (£200ish) and bigger trumpets (45mm Ali are just fine @ £200ish) and you on the way to getting close the power figures TVR quoted for the engines IMHO.

Silly money IMHO, why pay £500 off ebay for an unknown quality when you can pick up a set of the better flowed and matched ones for not a lot more .

You need to see what you are buying. Plenty of so called ported heads have only been tickled with a flap wheel and still have the long stock valve guides. TVR heads have much better porting, proper porting imho. That's where they invested money and time in the engines. The rest of the motors are usually quite stock.

Peter Burgess also does excellent heads but you have to wait a very long time to get to the front of his queue
