Well im afraid i dont like it.......

I have had my TVR for 3 weeks now and have used it in allsorts of situations eg: to and from work, evening blasts, popping into town etc and i just dont like it. Nothing wrong with the car its just not me. i really really want to like it as it looks good and sounds great its just not quite what i want out of a car. I think i will go back to a porsche. Dont flame me for this, as i say i really wanted to like it and have nothing against TVRs, i still like them, but will watch them from the driving seat of a porsche i think.

yeah, i did set out to find a 5 litre and it was going to be a griffith, the chimaera is lovely but i just dont get on with it. like i say i dont wish to offend, least of all Corin. never mind bloody german cars it is then. I do still have my MG so i still retain an english car.

what about a tuscan, i have just changed from a 5ltr chim, the diference is unbelievable got to be better than a hairdressers car(apology to any hairdressers)

well the tuscan is great but i feel the time bomb under the bonnet is a bit of a put off at the mo. I would like a newer tvr eg t350 but dont want to tie that sort of money up at the moment. too many other toys!

Can't fault you really, tried it didn't like it, no problem as least you will be able to run them down from frot eh stand point of being an ex owner .
Seriously though hats off to you to say it on a slightly TVR biased forum.

Fair play to you. Corin's car is a good 'un, but it ain't no Boxtaaaaaah. I did meet you very briefly that day at Totnes, and you did look at home in the Porsche. Never having felt the need to ride/drive a Teutonic beastie, I am probably unable to comment with any authority, but the Tiv is certainly more raw (read basic) than the Porsche. Some would say a 'proper' driver's car - but that's a different debate and a large can of worms!

What was it in particular you couldn't get on with? Driving position? Comfort?

I can understand where you're coming from, after driving a number of Cerberas over the weekend then driving home in the S - the change back was astounding, obviously less power but the different response and bracking as well as ride comfort was the biggest shock. Much as I love my S it makes you realise the sacrifices you make on some espects of a car to enjoy its high points.

I'd also be interested on why you didn't get on with it...

well i agree the porsche is a little soft compared to TVRs and i thought it was time for a change from a car that does everything for you. The TVR is hard work to drive, the steering is heavy(pas) the clutch is heavy, the gearchange is heavy even the accelerator is heavy. I knew this before i bought and hoped i could get on with it. i was wrong, i like porsches.
Schnozz like i said i do still like TVRs and wish i could get on with one. The girlfriend is easier to get on with and more rewarding!!!

blimey, from your complaints of the TVR being too heavy for you and wanting to take the softer option, is this really a lesbian relationship?

only kidding around mate. You tried and didnt like it. Better than all those who insist on slagging off TVRs never having had experience of ownership....
