Cantus is correct regarding the risk of water collection.
When My T350 connector was in its original position I drilled a hole in the cap to stop water collection. That worked OK to stop water collecting and yet keep the dirt out, but you still needed to keep the contacts greased to prevent corrosion.
My connector has now been re-located (under bonnet) so it is accessible when my car is parked in its usual parking place (with its nearside close to a wall). This new location means the connector is clean and dry.
