That sounds like 'Desert Moondust'. To my knowledge there are at least two cascade colours, Cascade Blue and Cascade Purple.

The o'boyle site shows some damned good photos of Cascade Blue.

Nice picks, thanks woolfie. Quote from the o-boyle site:
"Six-way flip flop first used by TVR on one of their 1998 Motorshow Tuscans. A real head-turner, but as easy to apply and repair (according to TVR) as a flat paint."

Only it's £450+ per litre... stunning colours though, has anyone re-painted a griff I wonder?

Is that "easy to touch up" claim for real? My Chim is about to hit the bodyshop, and I enquired about using this type of paint (actually Catalunya Splash) but was told it was a/ expensive (no argument there), and b/ impossible to touch up so any damage would require a full (expensive) respray.

I can't imagine the bodyshop effectively putting me off an expensive paint job for no reason. Whats the truth? Are these Reflex/Chameleon/whatever paints impossible to touch up or not?

They are as easy to apply and repair as solid colours, better than metallic and pearl. We are going to paint our demo Cerberus in either Cascade Blue or a Reflex colour for that very reason (we will be doing various changes over a period of time and the car will need patches of paintwork after each change).

Clive

My Chim is about to have your Speed 12 pods fitted, and get a front end respray. I had enquired about a full respray using that type of paint (Standox, Catalunya Splash), and that was the advice given! I'd like to go for a full respray, and I think this type of paint will suit your headlamp conversion better.

What sort of cost should I be looking at for a full respray in this rather than a front end respray in a "normal" paint?

If you go Googling for 'Chromaflair' there are loads of paint sites like PPG that tell you how it works. All of them state that a touch up is as easy as a solid like Clive says. I dont know why the dealers dont know this, or if they are trying to make money by exploiting a myth, seems like it would be better from them all round if they just told the truth about it.
