Best screw

I'm about to put the heater blower back in my Chim and I'm
reluctant to rivet the panel back in (it'll probably come out again at some point)
There's a wide choice of self tapper type screws; are any particularly suited to fibreglass?

Something with a very coarse thread I'd have thought?

Or is it that much trouble to drill out a few rivets if it has to come out again?

What about using a rubber rivnut as an alternative? Most of the self tapers I've used seem to work their way loose over time no matter what size.

Getting the rivets out wasn't the hardest thing I've ever done on the car,
shifting the tons of sealant was a bigger ball ache TBH
But wielding a drill in the confines of the footwell was a bit awkward, so
I'm looking for a better solution

What is wrong with normal rivnuts?

Something like this to install and a some bolts?:

As good as rivets but can take out any time without drilling?

ETA: Thinking about this - I may see your problem with riveting, is the blower the other side of the fibreglass? I don't have the bible handy to check the positioning.

So, back to coarse screws - in my experience if you use a rubber washer (tap washer like) they don't vibrate loose so quickly. Hope this helps.

I like the rivnuts, they'd have to be fairly small though
Will probably use screws for now and do a proper job when the weather is better
