Drove down to Wales from London last Thursday for the evening. Never had a problem with my car (touch wood) and everything cruises quite beautifully. Got to wales and parked on double yellow whilst waiting for a space - one comes up and then i try to start the car again. Hmm, it ticked over very very slowly and basically sounded like it was starved of fuel as it coughed and spluttered, after some sympathetic pedal work, we eventually pushed through and the roar began. Moved the car, parked and haven't had the problem again. Any suggestions what this could have been.

Vapour lock can happen. It is rare these days, but with TVRs you never know. After a cool down period it is cured. By the way, never had this problem with my TVR.

Do you have an ignition module on the distributor? (i'm a Wedger dont know these modern cars )
Just before they go cappuut its very hard to re-start the car after a run. Try restarting your car straight after a good blast to see if the symptoms re-appear.
