Cannonball Europe kicked off yesterday for a 3,500 mile, high-octane driving adventure across Europe. 122 cars left London's Royal Docks at 30 second intervals, heading for Dover and the crossing to France. By 6.300pm, the first cars had completed mission -- reaching the beach at Plage D'Argeles.

Bringing petrolheads and car enthusiasts together from across the UK, Europe and the US, the Cannonball Run Europe, the third such event, is the ultimate party on the move. For six days, Cannonballers will take onboard challenging roads, breath-taking scenery, luxury hotels, fine dining and fast and furious partying at some of Europe’s most exclusive and prestigious nightclubs.

Seems to have gone down - maybe the Spanish authorities got to that as well!

Site did say the Lambi was pulled at 190mph in France (how?)impounded for 3 hours and a whopping fine

The race IS still on, but 117 cars fell foul of the law in Spain today.

Dear All!

We are in Benidorm, and please to anouce that two in the top four cars that arrived without being caught were TVR, Myself and Dave500 in his Chimera 500!

It is now 1.30 am here and the impounded cars have been released and are slowly arriving now, just 1000 euros shorter and accused of being terrorists! see tomorrows press!

Will call in again with more news!
