I'm trying to organise a photo and shootout session for around 10 LS TVR's[numbers to be confirmed]
The problem i'm having so far is the minute i mention i want to bring a load of 500hp+ TVR's to play people get the jitters![don't know why]
I've been turned down twice so far on private locations, one on noise grounds & the other gave no reason frown
In an ideal world we need a straight long enough to stretch are legs on without to many draconian regulations, noise, insurance problems etc!
A private location i could hire for 2-4 hours would be my preferred choice but when searching online i keep coming up against noise and number restrictions so any ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
We are aiming for August if a venue can be found but maybe i'm being unrealistic in this modern nanny state we call home!
Maybe i should be looking in Europe and trying to make a trip of it as it seems they still have a taste for a bit of risk!! biglaugh
Thanks
Christian

Duxford Imperial War Musem perhaps?. Lotus F1 did some runway testing there last year. Worth a try. With a F15 Eagle, Spitfires, and B17 for photo shots. Good luck.

Have you tried Dunsfold? I did a photoshoot there on one of the outer perimeter roads that don't really get used. They coned off a large section so we could do a fair amount of tracking shots etc and the area was fine to have a play about in the cars so long as we stayed within the designated area.

Pretty sure they might need insurance cover though. What about seeing if the TVRCC could come along as an official article for Sprint?

It's a shame we're not doing a Sprint at BackHome this time or that would have been ideal. frown

Hi guys & thanks for the suggestions Duxsfold was one i had already planned on approaching just for the added back drop as you say and i'll follow up on the others.
Dave i had planned on approaching you once i had been able to get something in stone with regards to the location, numbers & time, i still need to get an idea of availability with respective owners but i already have a confirmed 6 with hopefully all mainstream post 90's TVR's covered bar the chim [If you have one please make yourself known? Not sure who has Jellisons car now?]
General idea is to get as many of the conversions together in one place for some still and action shots and then if the location is right see how they run!!
Should make for some interesting reading what with LS3 & LS7 pushing from 450 to 550+, i might even manage to pursued one of the DTEC LS guys to show up!
I think the biggest problem will be trying to find a tyre sponsor for the day rofl

Christian, do some maths and drop me a mail about this. Lets see what we can do, we are doing demo runs so we might be able to sort something.

Is my invite in the post??? hehe

The pod would be good, can't believe there'd be much going on there on a week day. Be a good photo all of them lined up on the strip.

Rich.

According to dbv8 it has more facilities than most. Bad experience?

The fact it takes 4 hours to open up the track if some one thinks it might rain, every thing just takes a age there, crap food, no grip on track

Good backdrop for photo shoot but the runway is too short to properly stretch the legs on a LS Tiv.

Just go to Brunty.

About £50 an hour (might be less, I can not remember) you then have a 2 mile runway to play with and a load of planes to have photos with.

Am I invited? smile
