I think I've seen this, it was smoking like err a famous smoker and looked very odd from the back. He came steaming up behind us, we waited to see what it was then overtook and left it. We pulled in for petrol a couple of miles further up the road, he pulled in behind us and said he was on his way to get the engine rebuilt then. On closer inspection the car did actually look like a pile of crap but then each to their own.

That's about the going price, by the look of it... Admittedly the Fezza 355 replicas look better ("better" doesn't mean "good", mind) for the money. There was some company selling these kind of kits at the performance/kit car show at Donnington the other weekend. Think I'd rather pay a bit more and get a proper replica. (Or sell mine & t'other half's kidneys and put a deposit down on a real one)

Do see your point, and it does look temptign to go for the real thing when you put it that way. But, as Powerlord said, it's the running costs, not just the purchase price that's making me think about this. I'd stick a crated LS1 in it, get the output up to about 600BHP in it, and plug it into some bullet-proof American transmission. Then I'd be comfortable knowing that my car only needs servicing every 20k+ miles, has the major mechanicals warrantied until well after I sell the car, and that I've specced the car exactly how I want it. Know I couldn't afford to put 15-20k miles a year on a real one, even if I sold a kidney to buy it to begin with.

You're also comparing a brand new, most expensive, replica with an old, pre-owned cheapest-possible genuine item.
