Who wants some nice clean leather?

Just a quick message to say that my other half has found a marvellous thingy to clean leather. It's the Flash Wall Eraser thing that you use to rub pen marks and the like from walls. I've only used it on a little piece of the leather with a very small amount of water and it was quite amazing just how much cleaner it was afterwards. It works by being able to get into the small crevices in the leather that normal cloths etc can't get into. I'll have another bash with it tomorrow with just water and then some leather cleaner and post some pics to give you an idea of how effective it is. Anyone else tried it??

Be very careful with that as it will eat the leather.
You need to give it a very good feed now, otherwise it will crack and split.

Actually you're very right about the moisturiser conditioner type stuff, it did feel a little bit on the dry side after the clean. It's now had a good feed and feels much better. Mmmmmmm.....

As far as I'm aware (which isn't all that far ) the Flash eraser thing has no chemicals in it at all and works purely based on its physical structure. It's quite remarkable at getting things clean and means you don't need to spend all day scrubbing with chemical cleaners.

I've always been advised by the trimmers never to use anything but saddle soap.. as anything else is likely to affect the leather or the paint coating over time.. plus make sure that the leather is towelled off rather than left to dry as this can create cracking/splits - and then of course feeding after..

For the last year I've had great results for cleam=ning and moisturising leather by using Pampers baby wipes
