ex TVR hire car for sale - a heads up for prospective buyers

I posted this on the Tuscan forum, but thought id put it here too.

saw this Tuscan Red Rose on the classifieds

however it looked familiar so a little bit of digging was done, and this "private sale" is actually owned by a performance hire car firm

just wanted to warn people, cos I for one wouldnt want to buy it knowing that.

an enthusiast owner would carefully warm this sort of car up (you would hope) before giving it any beans, but hire cars tend to suffer with the "who cares" type attitude and on a car whose engines are know to combust its even more important.

I know what you're saying but I bumped into the chap that runs that company at TVRSSW while I was waiting to pick up my car. The car he had with him looked well looked after and all the little niggles were getting fixed by Col. You could argue it was better looked after than some cars that sit idle in garages a lot of the year. I remember him saying that most of the people hiring tootle around in them.

Of course a buyer should know the history but there's no reason to automatically think the cars are lemons.

perhaps I should have said it more like this
"I for one wouldn't want to buy it without that info disclosed - as I could then make a decision based on ALL the facts"

tbh my real issue is that he's hiding stuff - so if he's hiding that, then what else could there be ????
