ISTR there are superior fluids to ATF recommended by those in the know, on a past thread. Try searching ATF and see.

Thanks

Capacity stated as 2.5 pints or fill to the level of the higher filler hole ?

How long does the oil last in these gearboxes ? Change every 12k miles ?

Do the plugs have copper crush washers or best use PTFE tape on the threads ?

Various brands and cost for the ATF … any recommendations ? Little joy with the search function

TVR recommended Dexron II but that has been superceded by Dexron III. I had mine changed last year as the 'box was getting sticky and the improvement was unbelievable. Just use a good quality fluid from a known manufacturer such as Castrol or Motul.

I use redline MTL fluid in my T5 race gearbox. Much better gear changes than atf. Its really good stuff as my gearboxes last a lot longer than when I used atf. Oh and you will need 2.5 litres not 2.5 pints. smile
