Thanks to all the folks who replied to my post on Tuesday re. battery failure - and for the pointers re. AccuMate chargers and cigarette lighter adaptors (to avoid taking the passenger compartment apart to get at the battery).

I have just had a very pleasant experience ordering one (and getting technical advice to boot) from Julie at Leven Technology.

In doing so, I also realised I have some Leven bits and pieces on my '98 450 that I didn't know was Leven kit. Neat!!!

Delivery will be by courier on Tuesday. Excellent stuff. No more jump starting the beast for me from next week. And especially on those rare occasions when the sun ventures out, no more thinking will she/won't she start!

I'm a happy chap today then - cheers Julie.

Yep, excellent bit of kit, I've used mine every time my Griff is garaged and never had anything like a flat battery since.

A tip, on mine I have to 'woggle' the connector in the lighter socket to obtain the good connection needed, once I see the lights on the conditioner are on its done. Just a very slight fiddle.

Next thing that'll happen is the cigarette lighter socket will disappear into the door innards!!

Technicial tip.

When the cigarette socket gives a poor connection it is often a sign of water ingress. A bigger problem long term.

The AccuMate comes with a little waterproof socket that can be fitted in to the wiring somewhere and then used to make a good connection every time.

If you want to know more please call us.
