Car is currently SORNED and is likely to be for the near future until we get past the difficult bits with our 2nd daughters arrival!

Im currently with Classic line - paying around £32 a month for 3000 miles, storage in locked garage etc etc.

However - i contacted them to ask about lay-up cover late last year and they indicated a premium of around £20 a month. Its yet TBC admittedly, but having asked for layup cover in this years premium via email last week, i have been told today that its been posted and the cost - £358 + whaveter i pay for monthly payments!!!!

So - about double where i expected it to be.

Anyone else using layup cover - what should i be expecting? Im 34, had the car 4 years, living in good postcoce, no claim history...

Mannings all the way!
thumbup

They offer Pro-Rata lay up cover, and true valuations and loss buy back should the unthinkable happen.

And.... ATDO Trackday cover

Yep, another one for Mannings, I use them for my Griff and although it was taxed all year this year I have sorned it on occasions in the past. I seem to remember it was inexpensive for garage cov.

Sounds like it would be cheaper to tax it and insure it normally.

Speak to Gyles at Mannings.

I pay £420 for my Tuscan including all the nice bits Mannings seem to include FOC (cracking customer service along with a named person you can actually speak to).

£650ish on the comparison sites.

£1400 with a nanny box and £2k excess from Adrian Flux rofl

My chim has been sorned since Nov 1st and is on laid up insurance, RH for me - they refunded a lump sum as I was only a couple of months into my policy (which I'd paid up front). Found them very competitive and helpful, unfortunately my Tuscan ain't old enough yet for their classic insurance.
