Tuscan fuel pump wire damage.....need some help....
Discussion
Thought I'd post here as there's a wider audience who may be able to help me.
I've had some problems with the car cutting out, it did it quite a few times in Italy up various mountains always after heavy cornering but it always re started straight away thankfully.
I put that down to fuel starvation which is what it felt like as it only happened when I was pushing on and round hairpin after hairpin.
Anyway last year the car failed to start, Martin from here lives near by and helped out, we couldn't find a problem so I left it, strangely after rubbing the fuel pump connection it started.
So on to today, I went round a roundabout, not that fast but it cut out, 30 secs later it re started.
On the way back I went through some sharp left then right corners and it died again.
Rac came out, and this is where I am now
Power to all fuses and main fuse to do with fuel pump. No power to the pump though, rac guy says there must be a damaged wire either to the fuel cut off switch or from switch to pump or even the cut off switch is gone.
He got it working by direct live from pump to a random live wire to get me home.
So what's the best course of action, I daren't take it somewhere and ask them to find the damaged cable, it could take days.
Surely running a new live from fuse board would be best?
Any advice?
Thanks

It's not that difficult to determine if its the immobiliser, but generally immobiliser/stand alone security systems are fairly reliable.
If your confident with electrics and you have the wiring diagram for the ports on the immobiliser control unit and the car wires, you can bridge the immobiliser. I did this on a golf gti I had a couple of years ago fitted with a Clifford concept where the fuel pump wouldn't run. After bridging the immobiliser I discovered it was the cars ecu relay. Check and double check relays as they can intermittently stick.
Obviously the alternative way would be to run the immobiliser diagnostic software and determine if the unit is responding correctly.

Mines a cerbera, but when I went for the bigger Bosch fuel pump the wiring was not man enough, and it got voltage drop.
So we put a relay in using the standard wiring to bring this in, and the meatier wiring from the big cable on the board to the pump.
You may want to check fuel pressure before and after, as my pressure went up now it was receiving correct current.
