Self Carpeting

I need to get the Griff recarpeted and am considering doing the job myself.

I’m interested to have a view on the following, preferably from someone that’s done this themselves already:

- When removing the old carpet, what’s the best way to remove any glue residue ?
- Presumably, I’ll need to remove the roof – is this likely to back easily without messing up the alignment ?
- What’s the best adhesive to use on the new carpet (I’m planning to use the stuff that has the waterproof backing rather than foam ?

Any advice (or pictures of a job in progress) much appreciated.
