Yesterday I spent the whole day with the Production Team and Tiff Needell shooting footage for a future episode of Fifth Gear to be shown on Discovery Channel later in the year.
Theme of the show was affordable high performance cars under £10,000.
For this episode they chose a Caterham 7, Honda S2000 and TVR Chimaera.

Here are a few photo's from the days shooting.
Locations were Ramp & Wrench in Coventry and Bulls Head in Meriden

This was the line up............

Tiff "inspecting the chassis" to camera

Tiff and the crew prepping the Chim ready for the road test

Tiff returning from road test

Yes, but it would be improper of me to quote his words........

I have to applaud Alex "theaxe" on here for posting the opportunity last week, he was the spark that ignited the fire on this one, good shout Alex, cheers.

Had a great time, the production team were very professional and highly skilled individuals, Tiff is much as you see him TV, thoroughly nice fella.

Patience of all of them was sorely tried when every time my car was started it stopped all the go-pro camera's dead. Very strange phenomenom, main recording box was sat on lap of the Director in the passenger seat, all of the cameras working fine, then Tiff fires up the engine and they all shut down recording, move the box outside the car and all is fine again. Happened a dozen times on the trot. Must be some sort of RF interference, maybe from the ECU, the immobiliser, or something else in or around the footwell, who knows ??

Well done mate...sounds like a fun day...interesting to see that you used the BZ...what was the thought process behind that?

These things take ages...make sure you get the footage....I was promised footage by the BBC from my bit with Alfie Boe and Fern Brittain and got nothing despite being promised it ....hey ho all a learning experience....

Cheers Steve, BZ (Bulls Head....) was chosen by Tiff, pure coincidence.....he drove past it the previous day and just thought it would be a good place for the shoot, quite some coincidence really.
