Aftermarket ECU Fault Codes

Afternoon gents,

This may seem like a silly question but does an aftermarket ECU such as Omex, DTA, MBE etc have fault codes? I know that on an OEM ECU and even the 14CUX if any of the sensors are showing up duff readings then the MIL illuminates and fault codes can be read using a reader to give the owner a clue as to what the problem is. Does an aftermarket ECU work in the same way?

I also note that none of the aftermarket ECUs I have looked at conform to the ODBII standard?

The emerald doesn't, but then again, you can just plug in and check the values are being seen by the ECU and that they are what you would expect them to be.

This is one of the main reasons I changed my precat over to Emerald, it allows you to see what is going on.
