Where can I find Mobil 1 15/50 Motorsport?
Discussion
Yes, you can get it through the post from Teeside Auto tech Ltd.
Their website is www.teesideautotech.co.uk
Paid £28.08 plus £6.38 p&p.
I got some from them myself, took just a couple of days to come.

Simon,
Seen this and read with interest.
To be honest we used Super (Sainsbury's) from when we had the car and switched to Optimax about 4 months ago. It did not run as well as the Sainsbury's Super and so we swapped back around 3 weeks ago and it did run better.
Regards the oil I used the 5/50 Mobil 1 and used about 1/2 litre per 500 miles which I thought was about the norm.
Now the engine has a noise at start up which I posted about and Dom at Power suggested was a lazy lifter (it didn't do it for him surprise surprise), and this was last Thursday. The noise started Friday, the day after, and not sure wehat it is other than it's not right. Hopefully it's not serious but someone needs to clarify the situation becasue everyone suggests this oil or that fuel and we all seem to be having differieng experiences.
Who actually knows the answer is beyond me but IO know I will be switching to the Silkolene option after this and using standard Super. i think we are all suckered in by the marketing hype and sponsorship money floating around and ignoring the real facts.
It's booked into Power on Monday so I'll keep you updated.
PS I have very limited knowledge on engines so I haven't a scooby what it is and it was Mrs FFG that was driving so I haven't really heard the noise. All I know is that I had to put 2.5 litres of oil in on Satirday morning after a 180 mile trip. It doesn't appear to be burning iot and I can't see any more leaks than usual.
Let the experts deal with it but as it is Andrea's only car it is a major headache trying to arrange borrowing other car's.
I have also been watching the 6 or 7 page oil thread.
FFG (Frustrated and probably penniless)

FFG, We dont have to many Optimax stations near me and thankful not as The Banana runs great on the Normal Super from BP and i think a litle rough on teh Optimax when i have used it.
I used to use the 15-50 which seemed ok , but when i went to Le Mans brought a load of 5/40 Mobile, and the Griffith is Drinking that like water, and as I do a few short trips I dont think its thick enough soo will be flogging that and getting something else.
Also keeping a beedy eye on the oil thread.

Yes, I'm going to change anyway - probably to Silkolene Pro R (see oil thread that has been running here recently). Already stopped using Optimax as car always ran worse than Sainsury's super and it ran even worse on Ultimate.
The car's in Power this morning awaiting the results - hopefully not too expensive.
