It's time to get my Chimaera resprayed. I'm going for a full respray in the same colour (Porsche Arena Red). I'm also looking to get the hood replaced and the targa panel recovered at the same time and it would be ideal if all the work could be done under one roof.

I am waiting for a quote from Classic Restore in Eastleigh (because that's my home town) and I will be getting a quote from C&S Coachworks near Liphook.

Any recommendations, preferably from personal experience, would be gratefully received.

Thanks,

PVN

How about Dave the Trimmer in MK - plenty of folks used him here - always positive.

Right next to Dave is Salford Service Station which do resprays and repair work? Owned by Ron who owns TVRs and managed by Rick ex-Power Body shop so also heavily familiar with TVRs. Both are within a stones throw of each other.

I'll 2nd that, Rick has done all of the paintwork and the hinge bonnet mod on my Tuscan and Dave did the interior. They are literally next door, whilst Dave was trimming mine recently Rick took it next door to touch up the paint and do the hinge mod.

Cheers mate, good to see it was getting just as much attention as the 458 spider next to it. Saw an Evora there so guessing you were in that. Look forward to seeing the Sag at some point.

I've used Nuffield Accident Repair in Poole a couple of times and their work is superb. They did quite a lot of work to my BMW Z4, including flatting back a terrible previous respray, sorting out flaking paint and stone chips and repaint the entire front half of the car.

Ok, their website is naff, but speak to Nick and he'll be able to quote for you. Their turnaround is usually pretty quick too. Don't be put off by their cheap pricing, their work is VERY good.

My brother has just got his VX220 back. Paint and fit a brand new replica front clam, align, blend into doors and repair some scratches and flat paint to the rear of the car. He doesn't do much in the way of fibreglassing, but can do repairs and small modifications. Anything more serious he gets in the fibreglass guy from Westover Sports Cars (TVR and Lotus dealer) and he does it. For paintwork, Nick at Nuffield is very good.

Z4 (be aware that the overspray on the number plate plinth was from the previous respray!) https://picasaweb.google.com/117193357949152121888...

I recently had my Tuscan 2S resprayed by Rick at Salford service centre, next to Dave the trimmers.. same as the team who did Magpie's car.

Ok, so mine was via insurance, but they were very helpful throughout the process, especially in helping choose the right colour and finish. He did a fair bit of work over and above what would be necessary in a bid to get the car up to a high standard.
From my experience with other bodyshops and garages, it's best not to expect to just drop the car off, and pick it up 3 weeks later without any involvement.

There were a few niggles to be sorted when i visited a few times throughout the work however they are a good people to work alongside with and sorted out all of the issues without hassle. Ron even went out of his way to give me a lift from MK back to Reading (although I suspect it was an excuse to go for a decent drive in his own Tuscan!).

Car's going back to Dave in July for new carpets and from visiting a few times, the standard of his work is top notch.
