My recently expiring 3rd is soon to be replaced, the same parts but heat treated and shot peened.
The last 3rd lasted 5 years so not a bad innings, bur it was $75.00 extra for the process so hey why not.
I am installing new silencer boxes while its apart as again 5 years of service, i reckon most of the packing we are now breathing in! hehe

Interested to know what silencer boxes you are changing to.

Also up until now has it run the oem version?

I get the boxes made up, it runs 2x 16" (4" OD with 2.5" baffle tube)under its belly, and 13" rear boxes, but i have increased the size of the rear boxes to 4.5" with 2.5" baffles.
I have some baffled exhaust tips too.
I have some track day silencer ends that are a 2" baffle to reduce noise further if need be.
At Mallory a few weeks back, static test was 94dB with the full silencing kit on. Test looked a bit "heath" though..

Gearbox is a TKO 600 with bronze shifter pads, as the standard plastic pads wear really fast if you give them stick.

Not very impressed with the packaging. Looks like they shot a party popper in there for padding. biggrin

Do you get you exhausts done in Brum, Brummie? I'm looking for some extra silencing for my AJP Cerb.

Do you have any problems with the exhaust sitting too low with that 'box?

No, none its the same clearance as OE, the T56 (six speed) has to be compromised.
Gearbox is in and on the exhausts now.

Here is the re vamped exhaust, larger diameter rear boxes, and a cross-over H section before the centre boxes have been introduced, i already have an X join after them under the diff, but i want to get one in earlier.
Its all up and running but it sounds like the soddin spigot bearing is squealing so its all back off again this week! banghead

Cheers Brummie. That's a very neat installation. Agree on the balance pipe, the further forward the better.

It improves the scavenging effect on a v8 cross-plane engine, balances the exhaust pulses.
