Did you read that article in the Telegraph business section, TVR have no engines, production has been halted as one of the suppliers of the machined blocks has gone into liquidation!!
They are thinking of using the 1800 MOWOG units left over from MG days

TVR, the British sports car business that was bought by Russian businessman Nikolai Smolenski in July, has plunged into the red after the collapse of an unnamed engine supplier left £3m-worth of cars unsold.



TVR posted a pre-tax loss of £833,011 for the 12 months to the end of 2003, against a profit of £392,413 in the year before. Turnover fell by a fifth from £25.3m to £20m, according to documents filed at Companies House.

Mr Smolenski said in a statement: "The reduced turnover was mainly due to a problem with a supplier of major engine components, who ultimately went into administration on September 5, 2003."

Mr Smolenski, 24, a Russian banker who is now the company's sole director, said the supplier "failed to deliver the contracted quantity of machined engine castings.

"At the year-end, cars in stock represented almost £3m of turnover, which were unfinished solely due to the missing engine parts. The company has withheld approximately £450,000, claimed by the administrator, and a substantial counterclaim has been formulated against the supplier."

Mr Smolenski, the son of billionaire Alexander Smolenski and a friend of Chelsea football club owner Roman Abramovich, reportedly paid between £10m and £25m for the company, which was owned by Peter Wheeler, the chairman."

Perfect opportunity, though, isn't it? No engine coming through, never mind lets have a look at the bits that we've got, see if we can do some thing about x, y and z while it's all sorted out. Have to say, it's what I'd do, and have done. Like the old saying, if there's nothing to do, sweep the floor!

The engine parts supplier went pop in 2003, this is a statement of last years acounts, there was a delay last year of about 6 weeks while they sourced a new supplier.
It has nothing to do with current delays of new product now, supply of T350/ Tamora is flowing perfectly.
