Has anybody got any ideas? I have had hinged bonnet done for ages. Tried to open top lid to do some cleaning and drivers side push pin clip has stuck, This is one nearest to wipers .I have tried wiggling, turning, pushing, pulling.I cannot get spanner in to undo the whole clip, is there a secret method or anybody else had same??
grateful for any ideas please

Geoff,
That's a bit of a bugg*r!

Can you get a long screwdriver to get onto the 'ball' end of the catch (so- on the bonnet itself) in order to give it(screwdriver) a tap with a hammer? That might just 'shock' it out of the socket?

Secondly, can you access hinge bolts having lifted service bonnet? Undoing completely or maybe just slackening might allow you to wiggle main bonnet so that the clip can be worked again??

Can't think of anything else right now.

Had the same trouble - I got out of it by spraying with WD40, putting some weight on the bonnet and using a large screwdriver to lever the catch down, rather than forcing the ball up, if you get my drift. Once it was free, I gave it a proper clean up until it slid smoothly.

Thanks guys, i took it for a real "warm up spin" and when i got back I realised that the sticky back plastic foam i had used in the pointed bit corners had squashed and the adhesive had stuck bonnet down.Bit of a shimmy with a thin craft knife and hey presto it sprang back up.
I will spend a tomorrow giving engine degrease and polish her shiny bits!!
