TG has been weak/crap for some years. Sadly. Last night's show had no new ideas whatsoever - race between car & {something}, new "reasonably priced car" with crappy "launch party", all been done before. For Ghod's sake, think of some new ideas.Read it was taped the wed b4 the sunday, so they would have known. But the car launch was pathetic with Hammond trying to be a coy little schoolboy...he's what mid 40's. The drive around NZ was yawn. Its getting to be more like the oap's at Glastonbury!

Its less motoring and more 'entertainment'.
I'd like to see a motoring program that looks at mods, good engineering, performance upgrades etc. I like watching nice cars drive around at high speed and a few of TG specials have been good. I can watch James May for ages, Clarkson even, but that Hamster fella is a PIA, not even funny. Then there's the 'star in the reasonably priced car', which takes up around a third of the program... an unashamed advertising plug and very drab. I turn it over at this point, it even makes the shopping channels look interesting.
Get rid of Hammond, all that reasonably priced car nonsense and instead bring in somebody to cover 20 minutes of performance upgrades and bolt on bits...

From what I remember, 'Tork' make paper hand towels. I think you mean torque. However, IMO there's absolutely nothing 'anorak' about tuning cars.I even like the star in a reasonably priced car.

On the other hand, celeb interviews really do belong on daytime TV and the likes of Loose Women. I wouldn't expect a complimentary copy of 'Heat' tucked inside a copy of Classic & Sports Car, so by the same token, I'd rather not hear about somebody like Christopher Biggins discuss his blinged-up, street-ripped Austin Princess on Top Gear. All this before burning a lap in a reasonably priced car, accompanied by a grovelling commentary and various in-car footage of several money-shot expressions approaching Gambon from the rear.
Each to their own I guess. I shall agree to differ. I'm off to buy an anorak, clipboard and a copy of Evo.
