What is the New TVR up against?

I know what I want from a new TVR, which is basically a modern version of my old TVR. But since the announcement I've been wondering what it's up against.
Many people have their own opinion of what TVR stands for, what it needs to be, what they like etc. But analitically, the game has changed since 2006.
There were at the time: kit cars, caterhams, radicals, weismanns, porshes etc. What can you buy now that you couldn't buy then that is a production competitor for TVR sales, if they build cars with the same DNA as last time, for the quoted price range of 50-80K. and discount Second hand cars, because I'm happy to admit, a new TVR will have to be incredible to compete with a 3 year old £80k AM V12 Vantage.
so, in no particular order:
Lotus Exige V6s
British
3.5V6 supercharged 350hp
1066kg
pretty hardcore (but soft-ish at the same time)
from £50,000 ish
Lotus Evora
Same as above but a bit more room, a bit more refinement/luxury, a bit more grown up!
NA 3.5V6 280bhp £45k+
Supercharged 3.5 V6 350bhp £60k+
Ginetta G60
British
3.7 NA V6, 310hp
1080kg
apparently very nice to drive and quite well finished as well, though I've never seen a real one.

I know they all look the same so far!
But then, I quite like this:

BMW 3L Twin Turbo I6 with 306hp, 400Nm, chippable to 375hp obviously

Front engine, RWD

850kg, 235hp (chippable) carbon tub, fairly well appointed, not as spartan as an elise anyway

I would rather have a second hand Sagaris than any of them, other cars that interest me that you can pick up for around £100k are McLaren Mp4, Scud, 997 gt3, Superleggera. I also like the Aston V8 and V12 but they are everyday cars
unlike the above that are weekend/holiday/track day specials and for me you can't beat a FFRR as a everyday car so I want something very special for my play toy

Wolfy, this isn't about second hand cars, or new cars at £100,000. This is solely about what Brand New Cars you can buy from a forecourt between now and 2015 for between £50 to £80K, the targeted price of a new TVR.
Gazza, it's really easy, as above- just look at any car you could buy in that price bracket, and if it's far enough from the mainstream, it's a TVR rival. (especially considering that concept of the New TVR isn't public yet). Maybe you can't think of any as a TVR replacement, but there are all rival to anyone who is ready to stump up £50-80 for a new toy car.

I see your point but don't see them as tvr rivals. Certainly not against what I would expect to get from a new cerbera or sag.
What new cars in that price range are they up against, I can't think of any.
They will be up against used cars and existing Tvrs tho,
For example,
A good T350/Tam with a 4.5 S6 and Ohlins for £45k
A good Cerb ajp8 4.7/4.5S6 and Ohlins for £45k

Depreciation depends on demand and availabilityie Back in 1993, a year old 4.3 Griff 4.3 would have set you back (personal experience) near list price...
Of all the above, the alfa or morgan for me.. or a used Gallardo, or V8 Vantage roadster.

I'm worried about what a start-up, small volume TVR manufacturer can produce in this 55k-75k price bracket, especially after seeing that BMC single seat track car on TopGear last night for over 100k

Surely the main rivals will be the same as those recently highlighted for the new Jag F type? Aston Vantage, Porsche Cayman, Porsche 911. Maybe add BMW Z4/ BMW M6 to that list.
I can't see how Lotus is a rival given their current turmoil and Morgan was never a rival even when TVR was still active. The Ginetta may be perceived by some enthusiasts (me included) as a rival but realistically I don't think the general public will see it that way.
