Evo have the Tamora in their Track Car of The Year and reckon that on 18s it is a real handful and nowhere near as much fun as it was when they last tested it.

They mentioned that the suspension had been tweaked to allow for the bigger wheels - Did they soften it as they said it dived way too much under braking?

Wonder how a non tweaked one on 18s would compare?

I read that this morning and, whilst these guys are far better drivers than me, I can't say that my car is so different on 18's. I put my 16's on for a holiday in the Isle of Man, and didn't notioce massive differences in ride and handling. sure, the ride was a little firmer, and less fluid over irregular roads, but grip and braking were superb. I will probabl;y put the 16's back on for winter, more to get some use out of them, but I think the article in EVO is unnecessarily harsh and picky - I reckon they got their heads together to criticise, because they loved it so much on the 16" wheels first time around. It seems that debate on TVR matters ALWAYS provokes the extremes of argument and opinion - it reflects the huge swell of esteem and annoyance that go with the marque.

Is the suspension tweaked when 18" wheels are fitted, or is this a mod to later cars?

Or maybe EVO just made it up ....

dealer told me the wheel arches are altered if you have factory fit 18", but nothing about the settings

I haven't had any "tweaking" done to my suspension. and it handles just the same as before...if not better. I like evo mag and it's better than most of them but all they seem to do these days waffle on about the Pagani Zonda a car which (although superb) no-one who reads the magazine can afford... take what they say with a pinch of salt, maybe they just borrowed a bad car.
