I am paying 600 quid for my Chim as it doesnt have any NCB as thats on my C5.
Have just bought an FJR. 150 bhp 0-60 3.2 secs, top 154. cost 118 pounds no NCB either.
It makes zero sense to me?
That does seem high, I pay £230 for my Chim (my NCD was on my S1 at the time), I also pay £250 a year for both my Victiry Vegas and Custom built chop, the chop has one standard part on it (the engine).Have just bought an FJR. 150 bhp 0-60 3.2 secs, top 154. cost 118 pounds no NCB either.

I just sold my B-King (180 HP, 0-60 ~2.8, 180MPH) and paid £108 a year for that with no NCD..
On a risk-by-risk basis the amount you're paying for the Chim makes no real logical sense.
Just had my reminder for nearly £400 for my Tam with Classic Line, at 60+ years old & less than 2K miles seems way tooooo much??
Called manning Uk 01491 578759 and had a quote for HALF - £200 FFS!!! Using my "other" cars NCB with all the previous benefits.
Give them a ring - personal service is very endearing 8-))

I just had to start again as I have been living abroad and lost all my NCB.
Just brought last month chimaera 400 and started the minefield of Insurance.
My last search saved me 300.00 .. using M. superMt directed to b wiser.
Final payment 351.01 NCB ... But I have noticed others trying them and get quoted almost double.
I notice you have garage and your location area would not think high risk and your no boy racer 20yr old (By your picture)..
Try them, the 10 mins filling it out saved me 300...
good luck... but 380.00 was way better than I was getting quoted by many other search engines.

tell me about it. I also had a MGB roadster, insured at 105 pounds, the c5 has the 6 yrs NCB on it.
Like u, I have just come back "home" after 14 yrs in the US but my M-IN-Law put us down as named drivers....thank god for that! But have now sold the MG and bought the Chim........feckin awesome, and tomorrow pick up the FJR....(better wear tight undies I think).
I will call lancaster after your suggestion on an insurance change and tell em to feck off.
I'm ex navy so think I'm a 25 yr old in a 55 yr olds body and yes Cornwall is quiet!

So m-in-law takes out policy on your car, and adds you as a named driver.
Unfortunetly she is no longer with us....and she was a heck of a nice Lady too!Have now binned lancaster as are the TVRCC as a "preferred insurer" I think. Am now with bewiser and the insurance is down to 291 a yr full comp. Wonder how many weeks it'll take lancaster to give me a frefund!!

Bwiser is who I suggested, however one month tomorrow from taking the policy out I still have had no paperwork.
I know I have been out the country for along time, but as I recall you used to get a cover note the next day.
Note to myself.... Must
them tomorrow. Out of interest, do you need NCB with the Classic policies ?
I've saved money this year by insuring mine as a Classic, but a couple of things of note. Firstly, it doesn't give me the option to drive other insured cars. And Secondly, AFAIK I'm not building up any NCB with them. To the point that if I don't use the NCB on a 'normal' policy at the end of this Classic one, apparently I'll lose my NCB at the end of year Two.
Edit... Just googled that and apparently some insurers allow a break of up to 3 years, where as some don't accept any break at all
