What would you do?

Hi All,

Recently sold my 5.ol chim,And am not sure what to do next.

Sold the car as have not used much this year and fancied a change.Part of the reason i had not used due to new work commitments and family restrictings. used only for quick 1 hour blasts.

1.Do I Buy a Bike CBR600RR ETC.(not done the bike thing before)

2.Do I Buy a Bike and a Wedge(still luv em)

3. Buy a Cerb.(4 seats will get more use although concerned about running costs)

Ok lets put it to the vote.

What would you do.

If you need a bike, get a wedge aswell.

Going relatively cheap at the moment. I know I'll have another one in the future at some time.

I had a Bike(cbr600) and the Griff, After about 2 years i found I was Hardly using the Bike. As much Fun as it was teh Grifith was more Fun. Plus theres Two many Idiots out there Who dont Give a Hoot about Bikers( had a couple of Biker Friends Killed so that kinda swayed me too).

Get a well Sorted Wedge if thats what you really like.

Similar story to BB. hadn't been without a bike for more than a couple of months in 22 years. Got an R6 which was great fun. Three weeks later I got my Griff. Well the Griff covered 51000 miles in three years. I sold the R6 in a year with about 1700 on the clock - bizarre!

Similar pattern. I've got an 18 mth old Suzuki DL1000. I've used it once since I bought my Chim last year!
If you buy a bike, unless you commute, then you'll probably be in the same position as with the chim, ie occasional use.
The cerb option could be good, but only if you can afford £3K p/a for running costs and you don't do much more than 6K miles per year.

Personally, Id staw away from bikes. Dont want to end up in a smash, however fun they may be.

I'd buy a cerbera - masses of fun, power, stunning looking goes like stink, wont ever have a dull moment in it car.

I've ridden bikes for 22 years too. Unless you are prepared to go the longer route to larger bikes, you run bigger risks IMO. Direct access and a hot 600 is gratifyingly quick, but there's a lot to learning how to use a quick bike safely.

Caramba! £3k/annum for running costs. Are you including 6k miles worth of petrol?

Not doing much mileage.Any of the options would be purely for playing. Thats why I'm considering the bike route. Not to much money sitting in the garage and all that.
