A sad day for S-Hants TVRCC members
Discussion
Its my sad duty to inform you that the Little chef at West Meon has closed down, i found this report in the local HERALD under the heading
"LITTLE CHEF TO CLOSE"
" It`s been announced that the Little Chef on the A32 junction with the A272 in West Meon is to close, the manager Mr Ashley Simon Stuart-Hole gave a exclusive interview to our reporter,
Yes it`s true said Mr A Hole, all good things must come to an end, in our hey day a couple of years ago i remember having 26 TVR sports cars here and actually sold two cups of coffee,oh those where the days, i always made them feel welcome, i even arranged the local constabulary to give out free NiP`s to the speeding bikers to drum up more business, but i knew the writing was on the wall when i lost two key members of staff, one left to join Billy Connolly`s public relation team and the other went selling package holidays to Baghdad he sighed. The restraunts black cat Tabitha is now looking for a new home, and 3 other members of staff looking for new employment, in a customer focus enviroment"
A S-Hants TVRCC spokesman said " We are totally stunned at this deveopment, we can think of possibly one member who will miss the Little Chef, and sincerly hope that Tabitha gets a good home soon" concluded the spokesman.
Just thought i would share the news
Tony

Ah but to be fair, DustyC probably couldn't decide between tea or coffee and a 20 minute wait enabled him to give careful consideration as to whether he really wanted a coffee...or not! Decisions decisions.

I agree, but this time, lets make sure DustyC tells them we are coming so that they can open early and we dont have to run the gauntlet of the dogs and unhappy bar manager moaning about her clean floor getting messy when we ask her nicely if we can borrow her toilets (POTB III)
Nice pub though

It is definately a good pub, but they got the right arse when we all turned up at 10.30/11.00 and they didnt know we were coming and the girlies (and a few of us chaps) wanted to use the facilities - can't say I blame them, but it was very funny seeing her speed away in her Audi estate a while later with the right hump!!
I reckon you should keep quiet about it - or at least be diplomatic if you ask her if she remembers it!
To be fair, she did say if she had known, they would tried to open up to serve us!

I thought about that...unfortunately after the fact. If we repeat the Seven Stars arrangements I think it would be well worth informing them in advance.
I do see a problem, though, in that we turn up at 11:00am and bugger off at 11:30. Most people don't even want a drink over a stop like that.
It would be better to find a public car park nearby...if there is one.
