Which model? a Chim or Cerb for £10k

Evening folks,
just selling my current car and should have about £10k available to play with for my next toy.
Always fancied a TVR and see from the adverts that I could get either a Chim or Cerb for that sort of money (£10k), but I don't really know the pro's and con's or the vital comparisons to make between the two.
My gut says go for the Cerb for the horses, but I'd like a wider comparision.
Any help appreciated.

I don't see how you can buy a Cerb for £10k unless you have another few £k to bring it up to a reasonable position.
I reckon £10k is the starting point for a decent Chim.
(said the chap who bought a Chim for less than than and has now spent a few £k more getting it 'sort of' sorted)
Good luck either way, I always wanted a Tiv and now I have one, I wouldn't be without it.
PS - although I don't have a Cerb I have been told the running costs for the Cerb are much more than those of a Chim.

You could also get a nice S for that money that has already had a body off restoration, and perhaps have some change left over to spend enjoying and running the car. I know not on your short list, and you may have already ruled one out in favour of a Chim or Cerb.
I have just got a 2.9 V6 S3, and had change out of £6k to pay for the insurance. It will need the outriggers replacing at some point in the next few years, but then a £10k Chim is likely to need them doing as well. Yes a Chim or Cerb is going to be quicker than a 2.9 S3, but mine still has the TVR appeal and noise (well almost the noise - still gets people looking).

Chimaeras and Cerberas look very similar but couldn't really be much further apart in how they deliver.
I'd agree that a £10k Cerbera is likely to need a stronger stream of cash after purchase than a Chimaera would need.
If you're feeling that either car would be fine - probably go for the Chimaera. Cerberas are a level of hardcore higher with running costs to match. You should only buy a Cerbera if the Cerbera calls to you

As everone else has said a £10k Cerb will possibly need a lot more spending on it to bring it up to a reasonable level. It will also cost you around 2x as much as running a V8 car.
Have you looked at a Wedge - you could get a great car for 7-8k plus have a bit left for some mods.
If not a Chimp is probably your best entry into Tiv ownership. 8-10k should get you a decent car
