Hi all,
I'm doing a training day next month at Silverstone in my 1998 Griff 500. It works out at 5 20-minute lapping sessions. I was looking in the 'bible' under track day preperation and it says to check the gearbox and diff oil levels, change brake and clutch fluids, etc.
The thing is my car had a thorough 12000 mile service from Peninsula in June, I have done 1500 miles since then.
Is it worth doing all this as it's just been serviced? anyway I'm not capable of checking the diff levels and gearbox levels.

Grouch.

as long as you don't have major leaks on the g'box and diff, just check the rest and you'll be fine.

quit worrying about it and go enjoy it!

The recommendations in Steve's bible are spot on.

However, I think there is an element of 'every angle covered' so as to ensure that Steve doesn't miss anything out and therefore covers his own backside.

You should be fine with general checks. If not, don't say nobody warned you!

Yep - common sense approach.

Check brake fluid levels, engine oil, tyre pressures etc. See getCarter's site for a more cut down list, which anyone can check.
