It was a segment regarding what we currently make in the uk .......pretty obvious why a tvr wasn't there
Yet.
i thought it may of got mentioned in the news on topgear, not on last nights showYet.
Until anything actually comes of it, I doubt its that newsworthy to them to be honest, currently just the rights to use the name have changed hands, tvr having been out of production for some time does not warrent a mention till something real and tangible actually gets shown /produced.
I only watched about 10 mins of the first episode before skipping through and about the same of the second, before giving up on the series.
Top Gear used to be great, but is more concerned about celebrities and tries desperately hard to be funny with old stunts. On the other hand, their specials were particularly good.
Lets see if they can improve the format for the next series.

Re last nights show, was a great tribute to UK vehicle manufacturing, and yes shame no TVRs just yet.
Very enjoyable show.
Thought the piece on the RR Sport was good. I do think it has answered most of the issues with the old one, which as they pointed out, was basically a fake and a wonderful marketing scam in many regards.
Interesting that they chose the V6 F Type, still not 100% sold on the looks but my god, it sounds wonderful and I do wonder if it's just about the only car being made today that could remotely rival a Tiv for the experience of classic English sprtscar with a glorious and dirty soundtrack.
Was nice to see Webber having a pop at Vettel.
And good PR for the new Route Master which looks far more suitable for London than Red Ken's bendy, foreign muck.
The final section covered something that I rant on about continuously on PH, that we are still one of the finest manufacturing countries on the planet but that the whole 'we don't make anything anymore' brigade are comprised of thickos uncapable of free thinking and people who are confused between the difference of manufacturing volumes and employment levels in manufacturing.
UK PMI broke 60 this morning so it's pretty bloody clear that we make an awful lot in this country.

Agreed.. Its no longer a car program, just a comedy show based vaguely around cars.

I've missed most of series, I watched last weeks on iplayer, the feature on the lambo was good (although Hammond is by far the most annoying presenter) but then got pretty bored pretty quick and switched it off when they started faffing about with caravans and staged stunts..
The finale was decent, maybe because i'm a Webber fan and the Jag feature was good

The great Motoring Show Swindle
Getting the top company's to give there cars to be ragged about by the aged schoolboys who then slag them all off for many inconsistent reasons
They were a part of the fall of TVR IMHO as they constantly slagged them for breaking down off whilst keeping schtum about the other cars failures
Crap and I don't watch it because its boring rehashed dross.
Waste of a good format, that's why it annoys many as when they've flogged it to death and made there millions (about now) they'll disappear and no one will be able to make a decent car show for years.

Hmmm. Maybe Wheeler should have bothered to check over the cars he sent them. The fact that stuff fell off the cars etc etc is merely testiment to PW's slackness and arrogance when it came to quality control. They never lied about TVR just highlighted the stupid, stupid things that the company should have ensured did not happen. I watch the comedy remarks made about the brand and see each one as a failure of PW and the company to pay attention to detail and their almost total disrespect for their customers. They got what they asked for and the simple reality is that TG let them off extremely lightly.
True,
But ranting on about build quality of the TVR (Sagaris IIRC) which had no faults, whilst ignoring the gear stick that fell off the Porsche...
Its a bit rich to lament the fall of TVR when only ever mentioning them whilst sniggering about canoes and glue smells and bits falling off.
Truth is that JC fell out with PW over a Cerb he owned.
He then used the power of the media to have his revenge. Year on Year on Year.
Another Irony is that he says he hates 911s but has sold 100,000s of them by saying they're bullet proof. Which as most 911 owners and anyone who anything to do with them knows is not true.
(They are better built than TVRs were though. I'll give him that
)
You might like it and thats fine. I think its rehashed dross.
I was watching TVRs racing at Anglesey...better things to do.
