Just picked up my first TVR - a beautiful blue Cerb 4.5LW. Completely in love with it already ![]()
Only minor issue is a squealing from one of the brakes. Anyone have experience of this? Do they have anti-squeal shims like on my last car? Is it easy to sort out?
Any help appreciated
Put some oil on them
No, don't. Honestly! Don't!.
Just look for the small animal wrapped around it and remove

Turbo - look forward to seeing your car at the next meeting ..
Please take it easy in winter and in a new car .. don't want to be reading about any off road escapades
Cheers Rev,
Don't worry, taking it very easy with Jack at the moment (named after Father Jack - he's a grumpy old sod who drinks too much and growls and shouts at you)
Probably going to the Virginia Water meet on Sunday if you're about.

No problem - can't make VW as car's at Austec having a new Airflow meter..
Do you have a quietly shaking passenger next to you with white knuckles? These sometimes have a habit of making squealing noises during both heavy braking and hard acceleration.
Removing this passenger with the bribe of a calming brandy also generally removes many other nexpected noises from the car and reduces the cleaning effort required on the passenger seat.

Hey I get that!
Gf was given a taste of Gruff over the Xmas period and for some strange reason she was talking normally and then I hit the loud pedal in 3rd and she went deathly quiet and rigid as a board! Wonder what happened to her? I was only dawdling along.

How are you finding the TVR experience so far then Nelly?
Regretting not buying the 206CC yet?
Wondered how long it would take you to get round to taking the p!ss on here
Thoroughly enjoyed my (2nd) trip on the AA truck this morning thank you. It got me out of a morning's work anyway
Just waiting to hear whether the alternator has actually packed up or if it's just the fuse. Here's hoping, really don't need a large bill this soon after xmas
How's the breadvan? Still teutonically boring?
Now now Nelly, you mustn't mock the van or I'll mention the day you thought the Trev had completely died when you had merely run out of petrol. We don't want that sort of embarassing incident made public now do we?
Anyway, sorry to hear about your woes this morning - I hope it's nothing expensive. My eye in the sky caught you looking for 911s apparently. I knew you'd come round to ze wise und correct method of ze thinking.
However you're not allowed one as I'll be jealous. My only solace would be the postings made on here to the effect that the ZMs are much faster and driven by far more debonair types.
Oh, and I have taken the liberty of putting your name forward for a beer in the Weyside
