Manifold to down pipes - best bolts?
Discussion
I have fitted an act performance manifold to the griff and 800 miles later I am changing the down pipes to decatted. Getting the bolts out of the down pipes has been a right pita and two of them have seized solid and need cutting after 800 miles.
Given I need to change the down pipes every year for mot what's the best material to use to avoid the b
s seizing and needing cutting out? Is there nothing simple with these cars?

The manifolds join the downpipe with a series of bolts. 90% of the stainless bolts supplied ended up locking up or galling as its called. I had to cut most of them off.. Not fun!
I replaced them with the best quality stainless nuts and bolts I could buy and had had no problems and can remove each one no problems.
In short stainless will do it but just make sure you don't use the Chinese made crap. Buy British
