adjusting idle speed sp6
Discussion
Hi
I want to bring my idle up 100-150 rpm to make it a little more friendly round town sits a little low for me and light throttle kills it. 700 rpm.
The throttle body's have been upgraded before any one goes down this idea
Having only seen the sp6 twice , the day I bought it and one day just to make sure everything was OK. : hehe: what you want from a tvr right? Wish I could say the same for the cerb. Does it have a base screw some where like the ajp? Do I need to remove the air box ?
Lap top is out and ready to go on that/side just after a location and any other quirks the Tuscan might throw up.
Cheers Scotty

Scotty,
Idle adjustment is found between throttle bodies 3 & 4 - accelerator cable comes up to linkage/shaft that operates all 6 butterflies.
IIRC, there is a locknut and a 2 or 3mm allen socket screw that alters base idle. Slackening locknut allows you to alter position of allen headed screw....Its hard not to subsequently alter position of screw when tightening locknut!!
Think you should then re-set adaptives.

Reset the adaptives and it is not happy fine when up and moving but i can not get it to idle bellow 1700 rpm for very long and not cut out at every junction
everything seems fine. i had the same issue in my cerb when i reset them and got loads of miles on it and it smoothed out does this need to do the same?
very annoying been playing all afternoon but it runs spot on when on the move

Have you re-set the throttle position too as well as the adaptives? should be 15-15.2% at idle. Both T-pots should move up near identically over the full range of the throttle (this can be seen with the engine off so you don't piss the neighbours off!). Try it and report back.

If you have a syncrometer whip the airbox top off and check the draw on each throttle is balanced I don't think the number is too important just that they are all the same. Mine are set to 6 kg/whatwever m3 IIRC
