Just got a mail shot from the said insurance company
They recon theyre cheaper than Tesco for a +30 driver of a tuscan with no points / claims?
Anyone tried them?
A One are brokers, not insurers - have used their Bournemouth branch for 5 yrs or so. Pretty good service. Were recommended by TVR at the time.
They do loads of TVR business & loads of bus' with NU. I've always thought rightly or wrongly that the quality of insurer & claims procedure was more important than premium (obviously within reason). Had one claim (not my fault) & both A One & NU behaved more or less without fault. Personally, that's exactly what I want from an insurer/broker, not a promise of "saving 50 quid".
Known of lots of people over the years who've claimed how little they paid for their premium but were then completely "buggered" at the time of trying to make a claim. It's the old adage, "If you pay peanuts you get monkeys" etc
They (NU) used to incl track day cover for free with a £1,000 excess, which was certainly an attraction. Stopped that at renewal last Jan' unfortunately.
A One understand TVRs & they understand track days IMO.

I insure two TVR's with them on a joint policy, unlimited millage, both me and the mrs's to drive, fully comp, one car is a V6 the other a modified V8, all mods declaired total cost both cars --- £205 per year.
PS they are both M series cars and so classed as classics.
Great service and very helpful on the phone

I used them for cover on my Chim and my Griff and they were cheap and efficient. I then switched to Mercs for a couple of cars and they weren't so competitive. When I came back to TVR they couldn't get close on my T350 so I went with Direct Choice who beat everybody.
Same with our works vans. Competitive a few years ago then they lost the plot but I always give them a chance to quote because they are efficient.
