Rear Cerbera Hub nut - Thread Stripped

I seem to have stripped the thread, hopefully on the 41mm nut and not the driveshaft. Struggling to know how to get the nut off as it just turns in both directions. Looks like its a hack saw job but I am wary of damaging the thread on the shaft.

Any ideas?

If output shaft thread damaged, new are still available at present

Slice in two & split? How do I do this when I cannot get at it with a hacksaw blade at right angles to the thread.

Dremell, painfully slow yes, then split with chisel.

Otherwise loose the hub & output shaft with angle grinder slitting wheel?

I don't think the driveshaft goes through the bearing, I didnt take the hub apart when I striped mine down, but the driveshaft is connected by 5 Allen head bolts in the back of the hub upright, you might have stripped the thread on the stub axle.

Ah, stub axle, that's the bit. I'm passing tvr power today so will see if they have one in stock.

picked up a stub axle today from tvr power, not cheap at £95+vat and new nut at £11.20+vat. still trying to get the nut off, will continue tomorrow

Not sure if this will make sense but is the nut accessible enough to be able to drill a hole in it, then keep increasing the size of drill bit until you've drilled right through the nut so you can split it with a cold chisel? As you now have a new stub axle and nut it will not matter if you damage the old stub axle.

Cold chisel will go through it in a couple of hits.

Well I was trying to preserve the stub axle hoping the thread was stripped on the nut and not the axle, but after much hacksawing, filing, etc it was the stub axle thread that was stripped and had to replace it. I just wish you guys wouldn't make these jobs sound so easy!
