Hood replacement southwest London
Discussion
My Chimaera needs a new rear roof section. Yesterday morning the rear window tore slightly while I was lowering it; also the stitching is very poor and the fabric is coming away from the side post. I can no longer escape the need to replace it!
Dave The Trimmer comes highly recommended, but Milton Keynes isn't easy to get to by public transport. Is his work really so good that it's worth overcoming the logistical difficulty?
I'm aware of a place in Chessington which would be easy for me to get to and they quote roughly the same price. But I've never heard any comments on their work. Has anyone used them?
Alternatively, can anyone recommend a suitable trimmer that would be easily reached from Woking?

how handy are you with a spanner?
you can remove the rear hood and targa, drop them into dave for a trim (or post) , then pop over and have the final fitting done when you want....
this was what i did, worked out fine....presumes though that the car isn't your dd and you have covered parking.

Yes, their special offer price is about the same that Dave The Trimmer quoted me.
For the time being, I've repaired the tiny tear with clear tape. If it holds then I'll live with it and enjoy the car until the poorer weather sets in, then take it to Chessington and treat the car to a new hood and targa recovering!
