Camcorder Mount for Trackdays

Built a camcorder mount for trackdays for my Griffith, though it might interest anyone else who does track days.

Cost me about 10 quid. Basically a length of 35mm/20mm steel box-section, clamped between the two headrests with 2 metal plates, bolted with a locking nut. And a £6.99 ball-and-socket tripod mount from Jessops bolted to it. Bolt for this was 1/4 inch x 20 (standard camera tripod thread).

Tested it at Elvington yesterday. Unfortunately I don't have much good footage, as I had the camera zoomed in too much which looked plain bad. With the wide-angle you can see quite well I think. Video below of me spinning, so you can see it's pretty sturdy: -

That is superb, I have a Hague suction mount which works perfectly but that is a superb location!

I was out yesterday filming for some IAM training we are doing locally...using a Hague suction mount.
