Why are the fronts supposed to be set at 2psi less than the rears on Griffs & Chimaeras ?

I would have assumed that most of the weight lies in the front half of the vehicle & hence it should be the other way around ??

i suspect it's tvrs way of building some stabilising understeer into their naturally oversteer-biased chassis?

Yes, its for high speed stability. The weight distribution obviously varies from model to model but they're all pretty close to 50:50 (bang on for the V8S ).
