Just out of curiosity really and because of an email I got back in February. I sold the car back in 2010 to fund my first house, and it went to a guy in Belgium called Mario.

He emailed me in February to say he was looking at selling and wondered if i knew anyone, and he said he would advertise it back on PH. I wish I had the money at the time (give it another year and i would happily buy it back)

It was a red 1995 with quite a few engine mods, modified interior and a new chassis:

This is the car

And on its way to Belgium

It would be great to know if it is back in the country, I don't know if he did sell it in the end or if still has it. The only car i ever regret selling frown

Looks like he must still have it then. Hopefully in a year or so I can scrape together some money and give him an email

Just emailed the dealer and found out he still has it in Belgium and it is still for sale. I'm so tempted to rescue it and bring it back frown

I could probably scrape the money together, but I was planning on getting a cerb in a year or twos time, but to be honest the running costs still scare me.

Maybe I should buy my old chim back and turbo it?

I love it! The wheels, mesh grill, and red paint just gell together brilliantly biggrin It looks a proper classic British sports car...

Just needs a small application of man maths, then go get her back.... you know it makes sense wink

I think I saw it for sale when I was looking to buy back in March, maybe you sent me the link? I remember the car. Not seen it since though.

I've just mailed him back asking a price, I can't really afford it but I might need some carefully applied man maths as suggested above and try to work something out.

The car just got so deep under my skin and I know its a really good one. I wish I never had to sell it in the first place!

Don't be too generous, and check condition before finalizing. Remember he has had three years use, and is struggling to sell it, and you will have the costs of getting it back into the UK.

I will check the VAT on reimport for you this morning, just in case there's a trap lurking.

Who wants a Cerbera? Assets stripping bills, you cannot afford one, or to run it, and the roof only comes off if you need the fire brigade to extract you.

Love the wheels - what exactly are they?

They look like either OZ Racing or BBS to me ( split rims ) Nice cool

But a bugger to keep clean.

They are Lenso BSX, one of the only wheels I liked the look of and could get in the correct fitment for a reasonable price. And yes they were an absolute pita to clean hehe

Tax wise I think it should be Ok, I have just been through the NOVA process with my Legacy (long story) but Im pretty sure that since the car was first registered in this country the taxwould have been paid when it was new, so none to pay now.

I will come back when I get a reply from him

Ah, but the only reason I am really contemplating it is the sentimental value of my old car, plus I spent thousands on it in my ownership and I know it needs for nothing (except maybe more power biggrin )

If it hadn't have popped back up I would just wait a couple of years and get a Cerb like I had originally planned. But getting my old car back and starting on it again has a real appeal (plus my man maths says in the long run a Chim would still be cheaper than a Cerb)

I am waiting on an insurance quote back from MSM because since I last insured with them they have moved their age limit so I may be too young to insure it again anyways.

There are plenty of classic policy insurers out there. Go to the Insurance wiki and ring around

Jeez, so many excuses... just get on with it man... before you know it someone else will have bought it then it'll be gone forever.... just grow a pair and buy it.

Just broke the news to the misses, saying that I might buy the TVR back, and she said:

'You should definitely buy it, I really liked that car'

Just need to sort out some moneys and get some recent pics off of him and I might take the plunge
