Griffth to T350?

Bit of gossip for you ... Last year I tried to do study for EVO magazine but the then editor was faced with a palace revolution at his office door and cancelled the comparison with forty-eight hours to go. (Massive photo shoot and personnel sent home at last minute.) Turned out someone else in the EVO office wanted to do a comparison of wedgies. What transpired in place of my article was not inspiring, and I reduced all my work to an imbalanced opinion column. Thanks chaps.
On another bewildered note: I never understood the wisdom of the editor insisting EVO should always be printed in lower case: evo, as if determined to devalue it, not that it appears in anything other than large bold type on the front cover. And I squirmed when expected to use the word, evoness. I never ever used it. You'll note that twee concoction has been quietly dropped by the new editor.![]()

Have I missed something here?
Anyway, in answer to your question: No.
I did go from an S2 to a Cerbera though, a bigger jump than the one you propose. Totally different driving experience, but you can still tell that they are the same 'feel' of car.

I went from a Chimaera to a T350. Once you've mastered the fact that the power is higher up the revs and low down torque is short in supply the only thing you'll miss is the V8 burble (oh and possibly the roof off experience - but get a Targa for that)
Power high in the range.
Short of low speed torque.
No V8 engine note.
Not a proper convertible.
You're not exactly selling these new fangled TVRs to me.
Once you've thrown chocolate engines and through the floor depreciation into the equation, there doesn't deem to be much to commend them, apart from the fantastic styling and the terrific interiors.
I badly want to like these cars, as the concept of the Tuscan and T350 is fantastic and the design flair is unmatched.
At the moment, however, I'm tempted to go back into the dark ages and buy a Griffith. It may lack the style and flair of a modern TVR, but it seems a less financially and emotionally reckless course of action, with a better soundtrack.
Cheers
Pat
Pat Heald has it. I had the misfortune to drive a Tesco once and found it truly horrible. I understand that it goes a bit if you cane the nuts off it, but in suburbia/traffic that's hardly practical. As it was, it just about kept up with the Montego in front. And kept stalling. Went like a diesel, sounded like a diesel. A hideous interior and you can't even get the roof off. A truly horrible, horrible, car.
What I like about the Tesco:
1) The electric windows go up and down nicely.
2) The fuel filler cap is cute.
You can keep the rest.
Just my 4p you understand.
Feel better now

Pat - I've always liked the idea of throwing a Ford / Chevy V8 in a Tuscan... Love the styling of the cars but would never buy something with an S6... With a nice big old fashioned burbly V8 you get Tuscan beauty, no S6 worries / cost of repair etc and a lovely "proper" TVR engine note!
I wonder if anyone has seriously considered doing this with a Tuscan...
Sorry it's off topic!
It'll only be a matter of time before the S6 motor is ditched in favour of another manufacturers fully developed unit.

Sounds to me like a BSM 'how to drive' refresher course may be required.
Stick with photography, you're good at that.
couldn't afford to trade "up" at the mo, so akademick,
but, have had a couple on trial and found them outstanding!
an evolution of the Tamora (which is a sorted Griff)i found the power delivery pretty good and just kept getting faster!
and my griff's no slouch.
i'd defo consider it...chocolate tappet fingers etc are a consideration so one with 5-10k on it would be the way to go...

Not sure that that problem is so serious on the 3.6 engines, there haven't been an awful lot of the T-based S6 cars which have had any major probs, indeed, mine just gets seemingly better, and now at the point where, if the engine did let go, I have had more than my money's worth of pure enjoyment, more so than even my Chim!
