Southways Automotive in Fareham Hampshire
Discussion
Anybody used Southways Automotive for chassis restoration work?
I need new outriggers and am thinking of also have the chassis checked over and restored as necessary. These guys seem to offer a full service, but I've never used them before, so would be grateful for feedback from anybody who has.

My Griff's in having the full monty chassis refurb as we speak.
You simply couldn't wish for a nicer bunch... absolute petrol heads with a proper old school approach to customer service.
They're happy to work with you to understand your end goal / budget and for you to be as involved in things (or not) as you like.
My advice.... stop thinking about it & get yourself booked in!
Oh, and the tea's not bad either

Can only echo what's been said. Think no more about it and get on down there quick. Their books are filling fast for chassis work over the winter and I need to get both mine done!
Top bunch who know which end of a mallet to hold.

Have a nosey round some of the other projects they have going too - some are very interesting.

After picking up Swanny's old exhaust from them and having a chat, can second that.Top bunch who know which end of a mallet to hold.

Just to add to this thread, Southways is the garage that keeps the PH Fleet BX on the road. I've known Rich for many years and always found him to be cautious and fastidious in his work; what's been done on the BX has always been done well and Rich has been a huge help in furthering its restoration and maintenance. I'll stop before I sound any more like an advert, but the long and the short of it is I'd highly recommend Southways!
Have a look at my red chimaera 500 on their website. Rich and Steve are two absolute stars with a spanner (and sometimes a blow tourch), plus they make a mean cup of tea.
I was happy to do the 120 mile round trip a couple of times a month just to pop in a see them.
Top blokes, top mechanics and to cheap for what they offer.

Yeah I have been! Wasn't going to reply in this thread as it would be from a corporate POV rather than a personal one, but like I said on the FB page the other day - it means a lot, you're all very kind!Scrapyard indeed!!

It is normally pretty messy I admit, but it's a workshop...a real one!

Thanks guys.
