Just watching a programme on Sky called Road to Le Mans, about a team called Creation
Anyway, the Spa 6 hour race, (this in 2005), I'm 99.9% sure I spotted a T440r/Typhon (always get confused with these) going into/exiting the pits
Shot was only a fraction of a second, but I jumped off the sofa with a big woohoo

Yes you did mate
I watched it too.
That was the Peninsula TVR run by Racesport (as was the first Sagaris GT3).
Drivers were Hartshorne / Stanton / Piers Johnson.
I was at the Spa race!

It was only a glimpse
Must have been brilliant to have been there and watched the TVR's racing... The coverage of the Creation team was excellent, all their trials and tribulations... guess their isn't a similar documentary of the TVR efforts at Spa (and LM?)... Was fascinated by the efforts of Pescarolo and the teams running the Audi R8's... truly inspiring stuff.... didn't go to bed till about 3'oclock this morning
Didnt end with Peninsula either!
Team LNT were running the quicker T440 mkII which basically had lots more lighter Carbon and better engines that were done by Ricardo IIRC.
The Purple LNT cars were seriously quicker. They were a "Pro" team and the Peninsula car was a supported amateur outfit. The difference... Quicker drivers and around £400K!!
Great days. I was was only watching by mistake really, I had to go to Germany to see a supplier and took the Griff I had at the time to do the Ring. Found the racing was on and hung around to see it!!

You lucky person :
I drove past Le Mans in the late 80's, might have been '88.... We were on our way back from Bergerac after some house hunting, and it wasn't until we got into Normandy I saw the road side signs and twigged which weekend it was
It was the Friday, and I did my utmost to persuade the missus we could extend our trip by a few days but she was having none of it
Of course, the road from Le Mans up to Le Havre was full of Brits coming in the opposite direction, passengers hanging out to see if it was clear to overtake... Regretfully it's the closest I've ever got to being their.... Maybe next year.....
Maybe Les Edgar could take TVR back to Le Mans
