Can I suggest you keep it there and put the head unit in a box. Then when you sell it pu the old one back in and put Alpine in new car.

Thats what I'll be doing

is it really worth it in a car with so much wind noise/exhaust noise?

With £400 of sound proofing it really makes a difference!.....and i think it is worth it! I can hear it with no distortion at any speed....even with the roof off!

I'm a happy man!!!

May I enquire as to how much this set you back? I've been looking for a unit with built-in iPod interface, with DAB that would be even sweeter but haven't seen many around with reviews.

In my car I can't even hear myself think at any speed. I doubt £400 quid of sound proofing, even if I stuffed it directly into my ears would help.

And with the roof off you must be aving a larf.

£400 just on soundproofing......i'm afraid i can hardly justify spending that on a system. I think that is verging on obscene

That's just your opinion though isn't it...! Most people can't justify spending more than £15,000 on a car, or spending money on modifying there engine like you!...

Music is my job, and I love music, so that is why 'I' have decided to spend 'MY' money on as good system as I can afford!......so if you can't justify spending money on a decent stereo, then DON'T!
